A love of nature and values put into practice

Farming & Produce at the Peternhof
The history of the Peternhof is closely linked to an original mountain farm in the Kaiserwinkl region. Although farming now accounts for only a small part of our business, our love of nature, down-to-earth values and respectful treatment of animals remain with us to this day.
Around the Peternhof, 20 hectares of meadows are cultivated and used for hay production – including for the Haflinger horses at our riding stables. In this way, the close connection to nature and to the farm’s original roots remains alive to this day.
We place particular importance on treating all the animals at the Peternhof with care and in a manner appropriate to their species. Cows, horses, ponies, rabbits, geese and cats are a natural part of our everyday life and enjoy a peaceful, stress-free environment. Authenticity and a genuine love of animals are at the heart of what we do.
This often creates very special holiday moments, especially for our younger guests. Encounters with the animals, pony rides or little glimpses into life around the stables, fields and farm allow children and families to experience nature first-hand.
Sustainability also plays an important role in everyday life at the Peternhof. Among other things, our hotel is powered by its own woodchip heating system, which is fuelled by locally sourced wood.
Farming may now be only a small part of the Peternhof – yet the values behind it continue to guide our family and our hotel to this day.
